Known as the hometown of Confusion, Qufu is a city located in the southwest of Shandong province, China. It is about 130 kilometers away Jinan, the provincial capital.
Normally, there are a couple of ways from Jinan to Qufu: by bus, by train or car rental. Bus and train are much cheaper than car rental, but they are less flexible.
There are about 32 pairs of high speed trains traveling between Jinan and Qufu. The earliest one departs at about 7:30 am and the latest one at 21:41 pm. The trains leave from Jinan West Train Station and arrive at Qufu East Train Station. It takes 30 minutes to 45 minuets for one-way trip, depending on different trains. It is highly recommended to travel by high-speed train, as it is comfortable and fast.
Bus from Jinan to Qufu is a usually way. There are buses all day, but check the last departure or you may be staying overnight in Qufu. You can take the bus from Jinan Bus Terminal (131 Ji Li Road, Jinan City). It takes bout 2 hours for one-way journey on the bus, longer than taking high-speed trains.
Car rental is the most expensive way to travel from Jinan to Qufu. It takes about 2 hours on the way. As for those who can not speak Chinese, renting a car with driver and tour guide would be better for Qufu tour. It will help to save a lot of troubles.
