Kunming - Dali Train
 
There are 8 pairs of trains traveling between Kunming and Dali every day. The fastest one takes about 5 hours and 6 minutes for one day, while the lowest one takes about 8 hours and 33 minutes. You would better check the schedule first when you make your travel plan.
 
►Train from Kunming to Dali
 
Trains from Kunming to Dali departs from Kunming Railway Station and arrive at Dali Railway Station. The running hours ranges from 5 hours to 8 hours and 35 minutes.
 
Recommended Trains: For the traveling time on train from Kunming to Dali is a little long, it is suggested to a over-night train with sleeper ticket, so that you can have a good rest by sleeping on the train and also save time for sightseeing activities in the day. Train No. K9602, K9616 and K9632 are recommended to take. They are all over-night train departs respectively at 22:06, 21:40 and 22:29. The running hours of them are more than 8 hours.
 
►Train from Dali to Kunming
 
Trains from Dali to Kunming leave from Dali Railway Station and arrive at Kunming Railway Station with daily departure. The earliest train is K9634 starting off at 08:54 in the morning. And the lastest one K9684 departs at 23:59. The running hours ranges from 5 hours and 10 minutes to 8 hours and 29 minutes.
 
Recommended Trains: It is suggested to take Train K9688 starting off at 11:10 and arriving at 16:20 and taking the shortest time on the way. Train K9634 and K9608 opetation in the day is also good ones to take.

1. Booking an original train is easier than booking a passing-by train. You can book a train ticket 20 days in advance at most. It is suggested to book train ticket as early as possible, in case of the availability of hte ticket. 2. Generally, the seats on the train in China have tow types including soft seat and hard seat. Also, there are two kinds of sleeper seats on China's trains which are hard sleeper seat and soft sleeper seat. Hard sleeper seats are divided into upper hard sleeper, middle hard sleeper and lower hard sleeper (lower hard sleeper is the best); while soft sleeper seats are divided into upper soft sleeper and lower soft sleeper (lower soft sleeper is better).

Luggage: you need to take the luggages by yourself and keep an eye of them on transporting time, no luggage-checking service on the train
