Where to See Tea Plantation in Hangzhou, China

Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, China, is famous for silk and Longjing tea. There are many Longjing tea plantations around West Lake. Most of scenic tea plantation is near Hangzhou downtown and can even be reached by public buses. Here I would like to introduce some popular tea plantations and nearby villages for you to visit. Longjing Tea Village

Longjing Tea Village is located in the southwest of West Lake Scenic Area. It is surrounded by hills by four sides. It is very famous for producing Longjing tea. There are nearly 800 mu of tea plantation on the surrounding mountains. In the northwest of the village, there are Beigao Peak, Lion Peak and Tianzhu Peak, forming a natural barrier that blocks the invasion of northwest cold wind. In the south is Jiuxi Stream. The ventilation geographical conditions provide a unique advantage for the growth of Longjing tea. The entrance fee is for free.

Meijiawu Village 

Meijiawu Tea Culture Village is located in west side of Hangzhou West Lake. This village belongs to a protected area and one of the main origins of West Lake Longjing tea, but also a suburban natural farm villages with tea culture and leisure tourism area in Hangzhou. It is surrounded by around peaks and tea plantations. Dasan peaks. Meijiawu Longjing, Shifeng, Longjing, Yunqi, Hupao are five famous categories of West Lake Longjing tea, with gind green color, fragrant smell, pure taste and nice shape.

There are many small sites to visit around the village, such as, Premier Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall, Qianlong Ruins, ancient trees, tea plantation, old wells, ancient bridges, tea performance, etc. Many local people come here to drink tea every day. And tea selling becomes a necessary part of this place.

Best time to visit: Spring is the best time to go to Meijiawu. March and April are is tea picking season in Hangzhou. It is the best time to watch or experience picking tea, and taste good new tea. The entrance fee is for free.


Maojiabu Scenic Area

Maojiabu is a recently developed attraction, and it is located in the middle Yanggongdi. Except for holidays, there are not too many tourists. Although many attractions here are artificial, they are also interesting and beautiful. It reflects the emphasis on tea culture, Buddhist culture and folk culture, to reproduce native settlements of West Lake area and traditional houses. Tea plantation here is also quite abundant.

Longwu 

Longwu Tea Village is located in Shangchenglu Village, Zhuanrang County, West Lake Distric. It is about 15 kilometers away from Hangzhou downtown. Best spring is the best time to visit there. The entrance admission is free

Except for the above mentioned places, there are a lot of other places where you can see large tea plantations in Hangzhou. actually, tea plantations are commonly found around the West Lake area.
