Dadonghai Beach, Sanya

, located about 3 km from the center of Sanya and just off the main road, is one of Sanya cleanest beaches. The beach can get very busy as its close proximity to the city. However, it remains a pleasant and convenient resort to kick off your shoes, soak up the rays as well as swim in the sea.

It is a truly tropical beach like most of the beaches around Sanya. You can see 3 km of white sand curving round a crescent shaped bay, warm blue seas and palm trees. Also, it is well-equipped.

Water sports here are well-liked by tourists and a lot of small restaurants and bars offering tasty snacks and drinks here. It is particularly pleasant here in the evenings, when the sun sets and the crowds disperse.


Luhuitou Park, Sanya
The love Hill in Sanya Luhuitou Park is located in the Luhuitou Peninsula in the southwest of Sanya with five hills and the highest elevation reaching 181 meters. The hilltop park is noted for being an excellent place to have a look at sea-view and sunrise and sunset or get a bird's-eye view on downtown Sanya.

The Luhuitou Bay is on the foot of the Luhuitou Mountain. There, you can enjoy and view school of colorful parrotfish, ill-looking sea cucumber, fish worm, sea sycas, sea fan, coral tree, sea flower, soft coral, sea oyster, jelly fish, sea nettle and so on.


Nanshan Temple, Sanya
As the biggest temple in Southern China, Nanshan Temple is said to be the living place of Kwanyin Bodhisattva (Guanyin). It is standing between mountain and sea, having the most significant looks of Tang Dynasty style.

There are a lot of splendid statues of Kwanyin, for instance, the Gold and Jade Kwanyin is 3.8 m (12.5 feet) tall which is listed in the Guinness World's Records. Another one is the 108 m (354 feet) on-sea Kwanyin statue which is standing on Kwanyin Island in the South China Sea.

, located in Lingshui County of Hainan Province, is the only island reserve for monkeys in China as well as in the world. The island is green all year round, surrounded by the ocean on three sides. There are more than one thousand monkeys living there.

Due to its mild climate and rich rain, the coconut trees, lichee trees and jackfruits and carambola trees can be found everywhere. It is really an ideal place for the monkeys to live.

Here, you can take photos with some groups of domesticated monkeys, but you need to keep feeding them while doing this. Monkeys will come by leaps and bounds once they hear the whistling. This time gives you a good chance to watch these monkeys. You can make friends with these monkeys easily if you take some nuts for them.

Also, here you are able to enjoy the monkey’s comic sketch and circus performence. Furthermore, you can take the cableway to have a look at the scenery of the whole island.


The End of the Earth, Sanya
In ancient time, the Hainan Island was very difficult to reach and became a place of exile for officials who had betrayed the rulers of the feudal dynasties. People arriving here found themselves in a place with no roads in or out and felt helpless crying "this is truly the Ends of the Earth”.

Facing the sea with Mailing Mountain as the background, The End of the Earth in Sanya downtown attracts a large amount of tourists by its special rocks carved with Chinese characters Tianya-Haijiao means end of the earth. In ancient times, many officials and scholars came here leaving their footprints and carving poems on those rocks standing on the seashore.

The End of the Earth has become the symbol of Sanya tourism. It is hugely popular with Chinese tourists who flock here to be photographed in front of the huge rock marking the special meaning. It is too famous to miss if you come to the Hainan Island.


Yalong Bay, Sanya

Wuzhizhou Island, Sanya
Of all the islands that surround Hainan there are very few that possess fresh water, natural resources and rich vegetation. Wuzhizhou Island has more than two thousand types of plants and many precious tree species such as the plant kingdom's "giant panda", the dragon’s blood tree. There are other rarely seen plants including symbiotic and parasitic species along with “strangling vines” and many more.

In this magical underwater world, uniquely shaped and brightly coloured corals abound. This is the most perfectly preserved of Hainan’s coastal natural resources and also the best place for diving and sightseeing.

Around the island, the seawater is pollution free and crystal clear with high visibility down to a depth of 27 metres. These are natural fishing grounds teeming with Spanish mackerel, grouper, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, prawns, luminous conches and tropical fish of every colour under the sun.


Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden, Haikou
Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden
is nearly perfect for plants to grow, covering an area of 400,000 m². Nowadays, the botanic garden does not only play the role of an important agricultural base, but also a famous tourism resort.

It is one of the most well-liked tourist attractions in Haikou on Hainan Island. Here, you are able to experience what are Coco, coffee, peppers and many other plants we may never see before you have them in your cups. They are provided free of charge in the Garden. Also, you can buy some back home to your friends.

Except the local coffee and tea, you must try the tropical fruit called "mystery fruit". You eat the fruit first, and then when you eat the sour orange or bitter food, the tastes will be getting sweet.


Volcanic Crater Park, Haikou
The tallest crater in the Volcanic Crater Park reaches a height of 222.2 metres above sea level and is 90 metres deep; it ranks among the world’s most intact inactive volcanoes. Also, it is the highest point in northern Hainan.

Amongst the caves here, the most spectacular is perhaps that of the Daoist immortal Wolong. Although it has yet to be fully developed, tourists can still look around and explore the cave. In the lava at the entrance of the cave can be seen the footprints of the immortals along with an elaborate memorial carved in the stone.

Ten or more smaller inactive volcanic craters and vents surround the Ma’an crater. As a result of the eruption, geologists regard the area as having much scope as a museum for underground volcanic cave information.
