Guiyang |
Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, is located at the east of the Yunnan- Guizhou Plateau in the southwest of China. Guiyang boasts a population of 3.4 millions and covers an area of 8,034 square kilometers, with the highest elevation of 1.762 meters and the lowest, 506 meters. The city features low latitude, high elevation and diversified landforms. In the subtropical zone, Guiyang enjoys a warm and moist climate, which endowed the city with abundant biological resources. Guiyang is the home to some of China's most spectacular vistas, with verdant mountains, limestone peaks, the Huangguoshu Waterfalls. Guiyang embraces a large number of Places of scenic and historic interest, including Hongfu Buddhist Monastery , Jiaxiu Pavilion and Qingyan Ancient Town.
On the eighth day of the fourth lunar month every year, it is the traditional festival "Si Yue Ba" of the Miao nationality. On that day, the young Miao peoples living in Guiyang and nearby converge at the city center for a celebration. Dressed in their holiday costumes, they dance and sing all night long. |

Anshun |
Located about 105km from Guiyang, Anshun is a key connecting between Sichuan Province and Guizhou Province. The history of its trading center could be traced back to the 13th century, linking north and south China with areas as remote as Burma. Anshun is a multi-minorities region which is the home of Mulao Minority, Buyi Minority and Miao Minority. The colorful ethnic culture and customs are the most highlights of this region. It features in natural landscape, including the Huangguoshu Waterfall and Tianxingqiao Scenic Resort. On the way from Guiyang to Anshun, Tianlong Village, one of the ancient Tun-Bao settlements, is a best place to display the history of Guizhou.

Kaili |
Kaili , which is the capital city of Guizhou's southeast autonomous prefecture of Miao and Dong people, offer you the greatest way to some of the most fascinating minority villages you're like to encounter in China. It is called as Qiandongnan as well in Chinese as it is located in southeast part of Guizhou.
There live 33 nationalities in this mystic and fascinating place such as the Miao, Dong, Han, Buyi, Zhuang, Shui, Yao and Tujia and so on. About 65 % of the prefectures population is Miao, clustered to the east and northeast of Kaili. Those Miao people who moved to America and Europe are known as Hmong people. Entire region hosts more than 100 festivals every year, with the greatest concentration around February, March, October and November.
The original ethnic culture, the primitive natural ecology and the primitive face mix together and become a varied and colourful , mystic and special spirit original ethnic cultural circles of Qiandongnan. There are a lot of beautiful ingenious roofed bridges, magnificent drum towers, bright and nice clothing, and numerous and complicated festivals. There are also the Miao's sturdy, bold and unrestrained wooden drum dance , brisk graceful Lusheng dance , and Flying Songs, and the Dong's sweet and harmonious chorus. Over thousands years, the ethnic minorities here still preserve their culture by singing and dancing, record their history by clothing, show their feelings of preserving hearts by wooden drum dance and romance their life by Lusheng dance. Zhenyuan |
As one of Top Ten Tourist Town and an ancient town of the Miao people on a plateau in the mountains of the eastern part of Guizhou Province, Zhenyuan is famous for its long history with many rich and generous cultural relics, making it much like a historic garden. Zhenyuan Ancient Town covers only an area of 3.1 square kilometers but greets visitors with more than 160 scenic spots including caves, palaces, pavilions, temples and rivers with their unique architecture, exquisite engravings and marvelous natural landscape. The Dragon Boat Festival, held on May 25th of every year, is the most ceremonious celebration in Zhenyuan.
