Jiannanchun Hotel sits in the center of this Lijiang Ancient Town and is the only four-star hotel there. It was jointly planned and constructed by Sichuan Jiannanchun Group and Sichuan Jindian Group in 1999. The hotel richly contains the cultures of Naxi nationality and Jiannanchun, hence the name of the Jiannanchun Learned Center. The Learned Center is integrated with the ancient city itself and consists of the Inscription Hall, the Yard of Winding Path, the Yard of Poem, the Yard of Lanyuegu, the garden, the Food Mansion and the Tea house. Each of the seven is an independent yard of the Naxi nationality style and yet they are also inter-linked, thus being blended into one harmonious whole part of the ancient city.
The Learned Center is featured by numerous small bridges over the flowing streams, various pavilions, yards and tower-like buildings, beautiful garden and plaza and elegant tea houses by the stream. In the Learned Center, there is a fancy collection of famous inkstones, woodcarvings, antithetical couplets, classical poetries, descriptive prose, Shangri-la stories and the legend of Lanyuegu, which creating a very strong cultural atmosphere.
The Learned Center neighbors Sifang(Squre) Street of the ancient city to the left, adjoins the former mansion of Mu family to the right, and reaches out to all directions via ancient trails and by-lanes.
All kinds of rooms ranging from double-bed rooms to single-bed rooms, suites and business suites, you name it, are available in the Center. All the rooms are furnished with complete set of modern facilities.
The former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chrestien, the Prime Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong and the President of the World Bank James Wolfensohn once stayed in the Learned Center respectively and all spoke highly of the environment, facilities and services of the Center. |
