♦Tourism in China
China, situated in the eastern part of Asia and on the western shore of the Pacific Ocean, faces the sea with the land for a background Its sea and landlocation is beneficial to its relations with many neighboring countries and also advantageous to its exchanges with foreign countries

China tourism has developed rapidly for the last few decades, since the the open policy had been implemented in 1978. The glorious ancient architectures, the splendid landscapes, the hospitable Chinese people, all of these make the tourism industry prosper in the past few decades. There are 1349 international travel agencies existing in China, and 248 of them are in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Chongqing-the four municipalities. The domestic and international transportation also has great improvement that it is easier for tourists to travel to China.

Nowadays, besides those classical tourist places such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guilin, Hong Kong, Tibet and Xinjiang, many other areas such as Qingdao, Harbin, Nanning etc. also gradually develop into booming tourist destinations in recent years.
