The highlights of the rock are on Mt. Baoding and the Northern Hill. The carvings were listed as a World Heritage Site in 1999, citing 'their aesthetic quality, their rich diversity of subject matter, both secular and religious, and the light that they shed on everyday life in China during this period. They provide outstanding evidence of the harmonious synthesis of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism'.

General Joseph W.Stilwell MuseumGeneral Joseph Warren Stewell (known by his troops as 'Vinegar Joe') lived in Chongqing for two years as commander-in-chief of the US forces in the China-Burma-India Theatre during World War II. He was a true friend of the Chinese people and was a skilled Chinese linguist. He is also remembered for directing the road project from Ledo, in Assem, India through India and Burma to Yunnan, in Southwest China. Today his former residence has been turned into a museum commemorating his contribution to the fight for peace.

Three Gorges Museum is situated at the west part of the People's Square of Chongqing. Entering the Museum, you could see four basic presentations: "The Splendid Three Gorges" reflecting the history and culture of the Three Gorges 'Far-ancient Ba Yu' introducing the local history;

On Changjiang First Road and on the cliff where is the confluence of the Yangtze River and Jialing River. Eling Park boasts its spot here to enjoy the magnificent vista of the rivers and the night scene of Chongqing City.

Ciqikou is an old town preserved in sprawling modern Chongqing, about an hour's drive from the city centre. Ciqikou, means porcelain harbor, used to be a busy commercial dock during the Ming and Qing dynasties when the community prospered from the porcelain trade. Today it offers a glimpse of the peaceful laid-back life in the Sichuan countryside and is somewhere to take a break from the busy city life.
