Arrive in Beijing, the capital city of China, your local guide will be meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel by private vehicle. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Beijing, China's capital and one of the great travel destinations of the World, offers sights and cultural relics found no where else on Earth. The city has a character all its own; there are quadrangles, small alleys, tricycle, boiled mutton, roasted duck, arts and crafts, Peking Opera, The Great Wall, the 2008 Olympics venue and a vibrancy that is the distinctive flavor of Beijing.


 

Day 2

Beijing
Today, enjoy your full day Seat-in-Coach Tour (Bus Tour) that covers the most popular sites in Beijing city - Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace.

Marble Sculpture of Forbidden CityYour coach guide will meet you at your hotel lobby on departure time then driving to the Tian'anmen Square. For about 0.5 hour short stop at this biggest city center square in the world, you will then continue your visit to the Forbidden City (2 hour), which was the Imperial Palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and, it is one of the largest, and certainly the most completely restored, ancient architectural complex in the world.

Then visit the magnificent Temple of Heaven before lunch. This palace is a temple and monastery of the Geluk School of Tibetan Buddhism. The constructions and the artworks of the temple combine Han Chinese and Tibetan styles. After that you will be transferred to Taiyichun Restaurant for lunch.

In the afternoon, drive to the Summer Palace, which is the largest ancient preserved garden in China and a former summer retreat for Emperors, for your 1 hour short visiting.

Day 3

Beijing
The star attraction of China is its Great Wall. After breakfast today, you will start another SIC tour for the famous Badaling Great Wall and the Ming Tombs (Changling Tomb) visiting.

Badaling Great Wall Your coach guide will meet you at your hotel lobby on departure time and accompany you to Badaling Great Wall first. The construction of the Great Wall began in the 5th century BC and is one of the greatest construction projections in all of human history. It is one of the best-preserved and most accessible sections. In addition, the Jinshanling, Mutianyu and Simatai Sections of the Great Wall are also well-preserved and worth visiting.

After 2 hours visiting, you will be driven to a restaurant near the Ming Tombs site for lunch. In the afternoon, take 1 hour visit to Changling Tomb, which is the biggest and first built at this historic site.

Note: You will visit at least 2 shops during the tour.


 

Day 4

Beijing      Xian
Xian City ViewToday, enjoy your own exploration in this ancient city, then be transferred to the airport for your train to Xian.

Xian, steeped in history and still giving up secrets, is your gateway to ancient Chinese civilization. In its 3,100 recorded years of evolution, it has been home to 13 dynasties. Xi’an was also the end of civilization for those setting out on the famous Silk Road. Today’s Xian is a vibrant, modern city, but surrounded by history, even underfoot! So there can be no underground railways due to the obligation to preserve the wealth of ancient treasure still awaiting discovery.


 

Day 5

Xian
Today, you will take a one day SIC tour that covers the famous Terracotta Warriors, which be named as “Eighth Wonder of the World” and Banpo Neolithic Village Museum.

Terracotta WarriorsYour coach guide will meet you at your hotel lobby on departure time. You will then be transferred to Terracotta Warriors site for your visiting there, the long forgotten army created to guard Emperor Qin Shihuang's tomb. Over two thousand years later, this “Eighth Wonder of the World” was rediscovered by farmers digging a well. The fine troops, horses and carriages in battle formation are a National ancient art treasure.

After lunch in a nearby restaurant, you will continue your visit to the Banpo Neolithic Village Museum, which is built around a historical site consisting of the remains of a 6,000 year-old village once home to a matriarchal clan community. It’s a fascinating peek at the birth of civilization. This excavated site of a village dates back to 4500 BC and was discovered in 1953. The village during this period was called Yangshao and 45 houses, 6 pottery kilns, 200 storage pits, 250 adult tombs and children burial jars, 10,000 tools and utensils were unearthed.       


 

Day 6

Xian    Shanghai
After breakfast, you will start today’s half day city SIC tour that covers Shaanxi History Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Muslim Street, where you may find variety of Muslim food and snacks. In the afternoon, be transferred to the train station for your overnight train to Shanghai.

Big Wild Goose PagodaYour coach guide will meet you at your hotel lobby on departure time. You will then be driven to the famous Shaanxi History Museum, where features an enormous collection of 113,000 historic and cultural relics, where you experience history, with chronological dynasties exhibits that take you through the dynasties, from Emperor Qin Shihuang to the present day in this walled city.

Then go to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which stands firmly still that got through the baptism of time, and became the symbol of Xian.

Muslim Street Located in the center of Xian City, the Muslim Street is a fantastic place to wander. All shops and restaurants in the street are operated by Muslims.

Shanghai is a city unlike any other in China. It is the bustling economic heartbeat of China that enjoys all of the comforts and amenities of a fully modern metropolis. Shanghai today looks to regain its former position at the turn of 20th of being one of the largest financial centers in the world behind New York and London. It is a city that seamlessly blends East and West. 


 

Day 7

Shanghai
You will arrival Shanghai round noon. Your local guide will meet you at the train station and transfer you to your hotel in Shanghai by private vehicle. Enjoy your own exploration in this city for the rest of the day.

Shanghai City ViewHelp yourself to get to the picking up place. And then begin your Shanghai group tour by visiting Yuyuan Garden, which is the only fully restored classical Chinese garden in Shanghai.  After that, have a short visit to the Bund to appreciate the group of building known as "a Gallery of world architecture". These buildings were built respectively during the 20s and 40s of the 20th century with different architectural styles but were well harmonized. 

After a short relaxing visit to Xintiandi - a car-free shopping, eating and entertainment area of Shanghai. It is time to have the lunch. 

In the afternoon, you will continue to go to the People Square - a outdoor facility including the square, the park and the surroundings - for taking some photos. And then, to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall for touch with the old buildings of Shanghai.  The last site is the Jade Buddha Temple which is famous for a 1.9-metre-high white jade Buddha inside. 

When the whole day tour is finished, drive back the boarding place (Lobby of Hotel Sofitel Shanghai Hyland) and service ends.

4. Driver and English-speaking guide service on normal sightseeing activities noted in the itinerary. The sightseeing activities will be served as Seat-in-Coach tour except the one that been noted separately.
5. All entrance fees to scenic spots as shown in the itinerary. The final arrangement will be determined by local tour guides based on the local circumstances which are beyond the control of TopChinaTravel. TCT will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible.
