Treasure Museum (Zhenbaoguan Museum) is located in the eastern part of theForbidden City in Beijing, inside Hall of Huangji, Hall of Mental Cultivation, Hall of Happiness and Longevity and Yihe Xuan Pavilion. Treasure Museum is a treasure trove with a variety of colored gemstones, sparkling gold and silver vessels, jade pearls, gold coronet, ivory and other kinds of unparalleled treasures. The most impressive treasure in the museum is a multi-layer tower, which is carved from a large jade, weighing 5000 kg. The Treasure Museum in Beijing Forbidden City was originally opened in 1958. It is one of the important exhibition halls that are open in all year around in the Palace Museum. Together with the Hall of Watches and Clocks, it shows the imperial historical relics of Qing Dynasty, mainly with paintings, ceramics, bronzes, curios, etc.

Since its opening in 1958, Treasure Museum had been carried out four large-scale renovations. Before the last time of renovation, the museum was with outdated facilities and inadequate lighting. Also, the seal of showcase is not enough; the dust caused serious harm on the exhibition and heritage protection. After the renovation, the new museum was moved from Hall of Huangji and Palace of Peace and Hall of Happiness and Longevity, Hall of Mental Cultivation, Yihe Xuan Pavilion. The new museum cover an area of approximately 220 square meters, displaying more than 440 pieces of cultural relics, of which there are 221 artifacts had never been exhibited in the old museum.

The Distribution of Treasure Museum
Treasure Museum is divided into three parts, that is, Hall of Mental Cultivation (first exhibition hall), Hall of Happiness and Longevity (second exhibition hall), Yihe Pavilion (third exhibition hall). It mainly exhibits the collections of gold, jade, valuables which were made into ceremonial vessels, crown clothing, accessories, household items and palace interior furnishings.

Inside the Hall of Mental Cultivation mainly displays: gold bells, jade special chime, gold seal, gold albums, gold tower, gold stoves, gold pots, tableware, and tea sets.

Inside the Hall of Happiness and Longevity mainly displays: imperial robes, imperial armor, gold coronet, ivory seats, imperial beads, etc.

Yihe Pavilion displays jade stone, celestial globe and other imperial furnishings.
