Danang & Hoi An
|
One of the most ancient cities in Vietnam , Danang was the centre of the Cham Dynasty from the 2 nd century and today boasts the largest and most impressive collection of Cham artefacts anywhere in the world. Also nearby are the Marble Mountains , the five craggy limestone peaks that are said to represent the five elements of the universe. A climb inside through the hundreds of natural caves and grottoes is a must.
Nearby Hoi An is an extraordinary jewel of a town. Once one of the busiest trading ports in Asia , Hoi An remains true to its ancient past, and as you wander the cobblestone, traffic-free streets it is not hard to imagine yourself amidst the sailors and merchants of the 18 th Century.
At night, red silk lanterns swing from the doors of fabric shops, tailors workshops, and artisans' galleries, and tiny restaurants beckon from the shadows of Chinese, Japanese and European architecture. Hoi An is truly Asia just as you want Asia to be and it does equal justice to relaxing leisure programs and the highest level incentive.

Its name means "pass of the ocean clouds", as the peak of the mountain is above cloud level while its foot is close to the sea. From the top of Hai Van Pass, one can admire Lang Co Beach to the north and Danang to the south. Endless forests stretch out west of the pass and the ocean is to the east.
