How to Get to Ordos from Beijing
Ordos city situated in the southwest of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and is located in the Ordos plateau hinterland. Its east, south and west bordering on Shanxi, Shaanxi and Ningxia, its north and northeast is facing the autonomous region's largest city Baotou and capital Hohhot by river. Ordos governs seven banners. In the Mongolian language, Ordos is meaning "many palaces".
By Air

By Bus
There are buses all day, but check the last departure or you may be staying overnight in Ordos. There are three bus stations that can reach Ordos. First is taking bus from Beijing Liuliqiao Long Distance Bus Terminal (北京六里桥长途汽车站) (there are many buses to Ordos here). Departing from this terminal you will arrive at Ordos Dongsheng Station(鄂尔多斯东胜), 840 miles in all or Ordos Uxin Banner (鄂尔多斯乌审旗), 1170 miles in all. Second is taking bus from Beijing Muxiyuan Long-Distance Bus Station (北京木樨园长途汽车站). Departing from this station you will arrive at Ordos Ejin Horo Banner(鄂尔多斯伊金霍洛旗), 840 miles in all. And the last is taking bus from Beijing Lianhuachi Long-Distance Bus Station (北京莲花池长途汽车站) (there is just one bus to Ordos). Departing from this station, you will arrive at Ordos Dongsheng, 810 miles in all.
